THE TECHNICAL INNOVATION AWARD

In March 2007, the Canadian Wood Council held a Wood Solutions Fair in Vancouver. This exposition is an annual one-day educational event on wood products and construction. 

The Wood Solutions Fairs focus on wood products and their use in construction. Suppliers and technical experts are on hand to answer questions about wood and its use. Attendees are decision makers in the construction industry including architects, builders, designers and others. This event is intended for the professionals who need to know what wood products are available and how they can be used.

 

 

In recognition of its innovative use of wood, Silva Panel™ Canada Ltd was given the prestigious Technical Innovation Award for developing a totally new product. By taking short-length Western Red Cedar lumber in clear and tight knot grades, Silva Panel Canada has used a relatively low value raw material and transformed it into a high value, high quality finished product ready for use in paneling, ceiling tiles, furniture and exterior cladding.
